- Nikki Schmidt
- On August 17, 2008, I embarked on a year-long service program in Palestine through the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). The program is called Young Adults in Global Mission, and this year there are currently 38 volunteers serving in 9 countries, including, Mexico, Argentina/Uruguay, the UK, Slovakia, Kenya, India, South Africa, and Jerusalem/West Bank. I am living and volunteering in Bethlehem in the West Bank, and the purpose of our service is to be in solidarity with the people here and to accompany them in their lives and with their programs.
